More than the conventional vehicle, the tires of a four-wheeler live a rugged life that would destroy the tires of your ordinary family car or truck. Of course, on any vehicle, the tires are the part of the car that are under the greatest stress and the ones that you depend on the most. Because the tires are the parts of the ATV that comes into direct contact with the unprepared surfaces you will seek out with your four-wheeler, they must be made to be far more durable and able to deal with those demands than the ordinary tire. Your ATV tires will be wider and often taller to give you lots of surface space to deal with the rough ground underneath. The treads are broad and more pronounced than standard tires because those treads will need to grip onto any terrain or items under the vehicle and use them to propel you forward.
It is a good idea to invest in a back up set of ATV tires as soon as you buy the ATV in the first place. You should be well rehearsed and prepared for tire removal and replacement on a moments notice because you will have times when a tire sustains damage and you must turn to a backup tire to get you through the challenge of the day. Having that backup set and quickly replacing and tires that are damaged is your best investment in safety and in equipping yourself to take good care of that four-wheeler so it can take care of you.
It will be costly to buy high quality tires for that ATV especially if you take our advice and keep a second set on hand at all times. But considering what you are asking those tires to do, its worth it to invest in the best tires you can get so that when you are out there in the wilderness with your ATV, there is no question that those tires can take care of you.
